Oklahoma Mission of Mercy (OkMOM)
Feel great knowing your Santa Fe Dental team enjoys investing in your state’s health. On February 5th-6th, Drs. Allen and Hansen and their team participated in the first Oklahoma Mission of Mercy (OkMOM) event in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
OkMOM offers free dental care to treat the most pressing needs of patients that are either uninsured, underinsured or would normally not have access to dental care. After patients’ medical and dental needs underwent initial triage evaluation, they received the appropriate treatment, which could include oral surgery, extractions, restorations, pediatrics and hygiene.
“Oklahoma has an estimated 660,000 citizens without dental insurance,” Dr. Hansen explained. “Many of them are in desperate need of care but simply don’t have access. This event was a great opportunity to provide thousands of Oklahomans with needed oral health care – to really make a difference.”
