Smile because...your dental care went high-tech!

Dr. Mark AllenTechnology

The latest technological advances in dental equipment and techniques are used during your dental experience to ensure that your time at Santa Fe dental is comfortable and safe. Your satisfaction with your visit and continued excellent oral health are our goal.

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)

Radiographs (X-Rays) are an important part of making sure you have excellent oral health. Digital radiographs are a new advancement in dental technology that allows us to take the radiographs while exposing you to a much smaller amount of radiation. Also, unlike film-based radiographs, digital radiographs show more detail and can be archived in our system for future reference. Appreciate a more comfortable visit with less waiting and quicker treatment.

DiagnodentDIAGNOdent®

DIAGNOdent® is an exciting new advancement in cavity detection technology. Cavities on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth and cavities in their earliest stages are sometimes difficult to detect. DIAGNOdent® is a portable laser technology that allows us to detect these. It alerts us with an audible signal to any cavities and provides us with a numerical readout that tells us the size of the cavity. Early detection helps us preserve the health of your teeth.

EZlase

Ezlase 940 – Soft tissue laser

This exciting laser technology allows Drs. Allen and Hansen to perform soft tissue procedures more efficiently and is less invasive than traditional gum surgeries. Our patients who are treated with the laser experience a more comfortable, shorter recovery.  The laser can be used to treat a variety of soft tissue concerns from periodontal disease to eliminating gummy smiles. Ask us for more information and to see if the Ezlase 940 can help you.

Intraoral Camera

Through the intraoral camera technology, we are able to display your teeth on a screen so you can have a better understanding of your own oral health and of the treatment we recommend. We can walk you through the steps of a procedure, and you can watch as procedures are performed on your teeth.

Digital Photography

Digital photography allows us to have photographs immediately available to use in cosmetic imaging or to track your progress.  These images are kept in a digital file and stay on our premises to be developed.

Caesy Education System

The Caesy Education System is a patient education system that allows us to use high-quality graphics to show you, in detail, the steps of the procedure you are to undergo. We can use this to equip you with the complete knowledge and understanding of the treatment you need in order to help you make the best decisions for your teeth and gums. We can also save this information to a DVD for you to take home after your appointment.

Sedation Dentistry

Dr. Mark AllenVisiting the dentist doesn’t have to be an anxious experience. For those who suffer from extreme anxiety when they visit the dentist, we offer oral sedation so you can be comfortable and relaxed. It is safe and reliable. Your doctor prescribes a pill that you are to take one hour prior to your dental appointment.

After taking the medication, you may be unable to drive yourself to and from the procedure. You should make arrangements for someone to drive you to the appointment and home after treatment is completed.

Once at the appointment, your dentist will monitor your vitals with a pulseoximeter and administer more medication until you achieve a more comfortable and sedated state so that your appointment can proceed anxiety free. Typically you are unaware of the passage of time and cannot remember the appointment. As a result any post-operatory discomfort you may have is typically lessened.

This safe and efficient treatment is opening the door to many patients how have been too anxious to seek treatment in the past.
